Counseling Office

Having a home-based private counseling practice requires prioritizing and maintaining client confidentiality and safety. Careful attention has been given to insure both confidentiality and safety here at The Lake House. There is plenty of off-street parking when you enter the premises, and the office is accessed through a sun room at the entry level of the home. I meet clients in the sun room and we pass through to a path that leads to the lower level of the house with a separate entrance to the office. There is also a separate bathroom at the office level.

Counseling sessions are usually an hour in duration. I book appointments by phone because I believe it is essential that the prospective client and I have an opportunity to “interview” each other prior to scheduling an appointment to insure that my services are a good fit for their needs. In the initial session, we formulate a plan regarding what the client wishes to address in counseling and how often we plan to meet. Former clients who wish to return are accommodated whenever possible.

In addition to the more traditional approach to counseling, I also offer Healing Touch therapy. Healing Touch treatments are given with the client lying on a massage table, fully clothed, with blankets and pillows provided for comfort and warmth. These sessions also typically run about one hour in duration.
